ABOUT MYRNA R. HERNDON
With over 30 plus years of experience as a producer/writer, Myrna Herndon has imparted her creative insights and leadership on numerous Broadcast, corporate and Entertainment projects.
With the goal of building both skill and proficiency, Myrna launched her career in local broadcast programming at WBBM (CBS Chicago). After serving as both a associate producer and producer working on numerous weekly and special event programs, she was convinced a deeper immersion into production would expand both her knowledge and creativity.
Her professional network lead her to several unique special event projects. She served as Associate Producer for VGN Enterprises' Symphony in Black a series of benefit performances sponsored by the Illinois Office of Tourism and Chicago's Mayor's Office of Special Events. In addition, she was part of the creative team for the newly developed Chicago Gospel Festival spearheading press, promotion and media.
Equipped with both event and public relation experience, she went to work for then, worldwide public relations giant, Burson-Marsteller. As producer/writer, Myrna created video content for numerous fortune 500 companies; earning industry recognition for publicity campaigns and promotions.
As Myrna's skills grew so did the opportunities to manage and lead large scale events. Her employment with Amethyst Entertainment opened the door internationally for special event productions and entertainment programming. From The Essence Awards to the Cancun Jazz Festival Myrna would garner both an event credit as associate producer and television credit as a producer.
Leaving Amethyst Entertainment, Myrna launched LightWorks Productions. For over 20 years the company has solidly combined three disciplines - Entertainment, Broadcast and Corporate. LightWorks embodies Myrna's love for bringing ideas to life.

Opening doors, mentoring and helping cultivate a new generation of creative talent is a cornerstone of LightWorks Productions and Myrna Herndon. She has helped launch careers, nurtured talent and developed a weeklong experience for teens called CAMP CREATIVE designed to spur confidence and positive self esteem through the arts.
